ROLE of m and b in y = m x + b

The purpose of this applet is to illustrate how the values of m and b affect the line y = m x + b. Use it as follows:

  1. Use the scroll bar to change the values of m (between -10 and 10). The line should change as m changes. The value of m to the left of the scroll bar should also be updated.
  2. Use the scroll bar to change the values of b (between -10 and 10). The line should change as b changes. The value of b to the left of the scroll bar should also be updated.

This applet was developed by Dr. Philippe B. Laval, at Kennesaw State University.
